UPDATE: All Indiana Michigan Power customers in Indiana have power restored according to their outage map. The outages were due to a squirrel causing a malfunction in a substation. There are still 112 customers without power in Berrien County.

UPDATE: Indiana Michigan Power says a substation malfunction caused 4,335 outages. At 12:15 p.m. I&M learned of the malfunction and sent crews over to fix the problem. UPDATE: I&M now reporting over 4,000 outages throughout Michiana According to their outage map, 4,334 customers are without power.  In St. Joseph County their are 2,982 outages. Elkhart County originally only had 494 outages but was raised to 1,248. Laporte County still is showing only 104 outages.
